LOS ANGELES (AP) – Halle Berry got a visit from police this Thanksgiving Day after her ex-beau Gabriel Aubry and her fiancé, Olivier Martinez got into a brawl. Aubry was arrested for battery and released the same day in exchange of a $20,000 bail.

Conflicts seem forever present in Halle Berry’s life, even on Thanksgiving Day. The “Cloud Atlas” star got involved into another heated discussion with her ex-beau, Gabriel Aubry, presumably over the custody of their 4-year-old daughter, Nahla. The argument evolved into a brawl when Berry’s fiancé, Olivier Martinez took sides with her.

The two men kept throwing punches at each other until police officers arrived at the actress’ Beverly Hills residence and put an end to the fight. Based on authorities’ report, Gabriel Aubry was severely injured and needed hospitalization after the physical altercation because he was diagnosed with a broken rib and various facial contusions. Once released from Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Aubry was taken to a Los Angeles jail.

Police could not withhold Gabriel for more than a couple of hours because his $20,000 bail was paid and he was free to leave the station. Even so, a judge issued a restraining order prohibiting Aubry to get closer than 100 yards to Halle Berry and her daughter Nahla. The restraining order is valid until December 3, whereas the French-Canadian model is due to make his first appearance in court on December 13.

Berry’s publicist and her legal representatives did not respond to reporters’ emails asking for additional details. It is, therefore, believed that the actress’ recent conflict has to do with the legal fight she has been waging against her ex-boyfriend for the custody of Nahla. Berry expressed her wish to raise Nahla in France because she thinks the European country is safer than Los Angeles, but Aubry opposed her intentions. The former couple met in court on November 9, but none of the two parties disclosed the outcome of the proceeding.
