Gwyneth Paltrow Called Her Grandmother The C-word

Have you seen Gwyneth Paltrow lately? Well, “Chelsea Lately” has seen her. A few days ago, the blonde Oscar-winning actress was invited to Chelsea Handler’s TV show to promote her cooking book. Yes, Gwyneth can cook. She got that from her dad. The cooking or the self confidence – we’re not sure.

The fact is that, while taking about the book and how great it was for her to have that experience of writing about the intimate act of cooking with her children – by the way, in case you didn’t know, kids can crack eggs just fine; Gwyneth’s son, Moses, does it with no problem – both girls started talking about their grandmothers which, by coincidence were both called Mutti. “Mutti” was a nickname derived from the German word “mutter” which means “mother”. “Mutti” would be “mommy”.

Both the grandmothers were of German origin. But despite the familial warm name given, it appears they were pretty nasty. During the show, Chelsea wanted to share her opinion about her grandma: “My Mutti was a real bitch!” Gwyneth immediately replied: “My Mutti was a real c***!” Ouch! That would have hurt our ears if it weren’t censored. Did you ever imagine sweet Gwyneth having a filthy mouth? She then explained: “She hated my guts. She tried to poison my mother against me, but it didn’t work, because I have a great mother. She was just tough! She must have not been very happy, she must have had a lot of pain, because she was mean as hell!” Chelsea appeared to have had a similar experience with her Mutti, which led to the natural conclusion: “I don’t now what it is about that name but they should stop giving it to people!”

Thankfully, Paltrow’s mother is far more different that Mutti. First, because she is not called that. Apple and Moses’s grandmother didn’t want to be called “grandma” either. So, Paltrow explained, she came up with this new nickname, “Woof” that she tried to get to stick. “It’s even her e-mail address” she said. But creative 6 year old Apple wouldn’t take it. She named her Lalo, and Lalo it remained.

Gwyneth’s cooking book is named “My Father’s Daughter” and can now be found in stores. It has earned a well deserved spot 7 in the New York Times bestsellers list, right above Eva Longoria’s cookbook. They both have the same price, 30 $, so what made the difference? Oh, but this will be the subject of another article.
