For Giuliana and Bill Rancic the past few months have been a rough patch. The cancer diagnosis was without question a big blow, but the couple remained strong. April brought the two good news as Style Network’s Giuliana & Bill will enter its fifth season. And on top of everything, Giuliana and Bill Rancic will have a baby.

Late last summer everything changed for Giuliana, as she was diagnosed with breast cancer. To make sure the cancer won’t come back, the reality star agreed to a double mastectomy. She said “all it came down to was choosing to live and not looking over my shoulder the rest of my life”.

It wasn’t easy, but Giuliana is now cancer free. The experience made her so aware of the issue she decided to do something about it. Much stronger than ever, when she got back to work she asked her co-workers to act normal: “It was like, ‘Hey, guys, cut the bulls**t’ — I’m the exact same person I was before. I’m still shallow, I still love clothes, I still want to talk fashion, I still want to gossip, so lay it on me!”

Earlier this month the fifth season of “Giuliana & Bill” premiered. Viewers got an inside scoop in their lives and saw what both of them had to go through after the cancer diagnosis. But things changed their pace now, as the couple made a happy announcement this Monday. Giuliana and Bill Rancic will have a baby:

“We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered. We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey”.

Giuliana and Bill Rancic’s first baby is due this summer thanks to a surrogate mom. As Giuliana told Ann Curry on TODAY they already know the baby’s gender but they’re keeping that under the key for now. Giuliana told Ann Curry that when doctors confirmed their surrogate was pregnant it was “one of the best moments of my life if not the best moment of my life”.

The truth is that it’s nice to have a happy ending to a very intense and troubled story. Both Giuliana and Bill are thrilled over their baby. Bill confessed it was a “pretty emotional” moment when the doctor confirmed the pregnancy. “This was our last effort” he added.
