General Motors to Release Luxury Cadillac

It seems that General Motors is planning to launch a new car model. The famous car marker is probably willing to gain customers and rebuild its image, which has surely been affected by the numerous recalls that GM issued this year.

So, GM is trying to revive the Cadillac division and it seems that the famous car maker is quite sure that bigger is better. Cadillac revealed on Friday that it plans on adding a new Sedan to its lineup. The new car is said to be larger, actually being a luxury vehicle. Naturally, at this point, the car maker refused to reveal too much about this project. However, it is claimed that the new vehicle will comes with “top end, high technology.”

Without a doubt, this new project is very interesting and the Cadillac will find numerous fans among customers who love top-level luxury cars. “The objective for this upcoming model is to lift the Cadillac range by entering the elite class of top-level luxury cars,” Cadillac’s president said in an official statement. 

It has been revealed that the new car will compete with impressive vehicles, such as the BMW 7 Series, but also the Audi A8 and the Mercedes S-Class. However, maybe GM has picked the best moment to make this release, as this segment of the auto industry has been in a continuous growth in the past few months. 

Still, in these conditions, the Cadillac hadn’t register great sales. In fact, sales for this car model went down with 5 percent in 2014, compared to the previous year. Overall, the entire luxury vehicle industry in the United States has experienced a growth with 14 percent. The most successful companies in this segment of the market have been Audi and BMW. 

Not only that the Cadillac itself lost its popularity, but the overall image of GM had a lot to suffer in the past few months. The numerous recalls and the well known scandal linked to the ignition switches issue might be the ones to blame for this situations. Well, maybe the release of a new Cadillac model will help the famous car marker. 

Production for the new vehicle is set to start next year. It has been revealed that Cadillac plans on unveiling its new car at the beginning of 2015.
