“Gangnam Style” has officially become the most watched video on You Tube after earning 803,761,000 views. The single broke the record that was previously held by Justin Bieber’s “Baby” since July 2010 with 803,732,000 views, Us Weekly reports.

Psy is by now the most famous South Korean singer in the world thanks to his single “Gangnam Style”. It took Justin Biber two years to earn 803,732,000 views for his You Tube video “Baby”, whereas Psy’s “Gangnam Style” was viewed by 803,761,000 people in just a couple of months. The way things are going, the song could reach 1 billion views by the end of the year.

Staying true to his social media skills, Psy took to Twitter to celebrate the unique moment with his fans. He wrote on Saturday that “Gangnam Style” has become the most watched video in You Tube’s history. His post was followed by a link to the world-renowned video, so 21 million views have been registered since Saturday.

This is not the only record that the song broke since its launch in July 2012. According to You Tube, Psy set another record for the “Most Liked” video due to the 5.3 million “Likes” and 323,000 “Dislikes” that the video received on the website. Justin Bieber’s 2010 song “Baby” obtained only 1.4 million “Likes” and 3.1 million “Dislikes”.

In spite of the success that “Gangnam Style” enjoys on the video sharing website, the song continues to be on the second place in international music charts. Maroon 5’s “One More Night” seems to be people’s favorite single at present as it has been on the 1st place for more than seven weeks.

Some people have argued that Psy’s success is only related to You Tube and the number of views he obtained. The pop star proved the opposite by performing his famous K Pop dance alongside famous personalities like Britney Spears, Madonna, the Jersey Shore cast, U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and MC Hammer. Thus, he has proved that the “Gangnam Style” has become a pop culture phenomenon and everyone is crazy about it.
