Dustin Diamond died on February 1 at the age of 44, following fighting small cell carcinoma stage IV. “He has been diagnosed with this ferocious and relentless type of cancer malignant only 3 weeks prior. It quickly spread across his body. The sole grace it showed was its swift and sharp treatment,” his rep told DailyGossip in a statement made at the time. “Dustin did not suffer. He didn’t have to suffer in suffering. We are extremely grateful.”
It was reported that the actor’s Saved by the Bell costars made a tribute to him following the news of his passing. “I’m deeply saddened that the death of Dustin Diamond, a true comic genius. My deepest condolences go out to the family members and acquaintances,” Mark-Paul Gosselaar told Us in an announcement. “Looking back on our time together, I’ll miss the raw, vibrant sparks that only he could generate. In the same month, fans lost a cult figure who was Christopher Plummer, who died at the age of 91. “Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self deprecating humor and the music of words,” his long-time manager stated in a statement in a letter to Us the 5th of February. “He was an absolute National Treasure who deeply relished his Canadian roots.
