It’s not easy to let go. Larry King, Christopher Plummer and Cecily Tyson are just a few famous people who passed away in 2021, leaving the people left behind devastated.

Dustin Diamond died on February 1 at the age of 44, following fighting small cell carcinoma stage IV. “He has been diagnosed with this ferocious and relentless type of cancer malignant only 3 weeks prior. It quickly spread across his body. The sole grace it showed was its swift and sharp treatment,” his rep told DailyGossip in a statement made at the time. “Dustin did not suffer. He didn’t have to suffer in suffering. We are extremely grateful.”

It was reported that the actor’s Saved by the Bell costars made a tribute to him following the news of his passing. “I’m deeply saddened that the death of Dustin Diamond, a true comic genius. My deepest condolences go out to the family members and acquaintances,” Mark-Paul Gosselaar told Us in an announcement. “Looking back on our time together, I’ll miss the raw, vibrant sparks that only he could generate. Pie in your face, my dear friend.”

Mario Lopez, meanwhile, posted on Instagram: “Dustin, you will be missed by me, my dear.. The fragility of life is not to be underestimated. Praying for the family and friends will continue.”

Tiffani Thiessen shared Lopez’s sentiments on her own Instagram posting from her account. “I am deeply saddened by the news of my old co-star @realdustindiamond passing,” she wrote on a post about Diamond. “Life is fragile, and it’s something that we shouldn’t think about taking for granted. God best of luck Dustin.”

In the same month, fans lost a cult figure who was Christopher Plummer, who died at the age of 91. “Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self deprecating humor and the music of words,” his long-time manager stated in a statement in a letter to Us the 5th of February. “He was an absolute National Treasure who deeply relished his Canadian roots. Through his talent and his humanity He touched all of us and his legendary life will be remembered for the generations to be. We will never forget him. us.”

It was the Oscar award-winning Sound of Music costar Julie Andrews was a tribute to him following his passing. “The entire world lost an incredible actor today. In addition, I’ve lost a dear acquaintance,” the actress told Us in an interview. “I am grateful for the memories of our time together , and the laughter and laughter we shared over the years. My condolences and heartfelt sympathy go to his beautiful wife, Elaine and granddaughter Amanda.”

For his loved ones, we send our heartfelt condolences in their grief over their loss for someone special. ”

Justin Thornton

It was reported that the MMA fighter’s passing was officially announced on October 4 after more than a month after being knocked out in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in Mississippi. He was 38.

Alan Kalter

Famous for his work alongside David Letterman on CBS’ The Late Show, the announcer passed away on the 4th of October at Stamford, Connecticut, at the age of 78. According to The Hollywood Reporter, his wife, Peggy, and daughters were at his side.

Marc Pilcher

A Bridgerton crew member was killed at the age of 53, after contracting coronavirus. Nicola Coughlan confirmed via social media on the 4th of October. A month earlier, Pilcher and his collaborators received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Period and/or Character Hairstyling.

Gabriel Salazar

The TikTok star passed away on the 26th of September aged 19 in the aftermath of a police pursuit. Salazar was driving when the fatal crash occurred which killed him as well as three others. The GoFundMe page was launched by Chris Vazquez to assist Salazar’s family. “I don’t know what’s real and not real anymore. We couldn’t believe it the moment we found out,” Vazquez wrote. “Don’t really want to get into details because it’s so hard for us to even talk about the pain he went through. The Old Yeller child star died in the month of September 2021, at the age of 79.

“My long-time friend, Tommy Kirk, was discovered dead the other night. It is likely that you will remember his collection of Disney films, Shaggy Dog. Ol’ Yeller, etc.,” former child actor Paul Petersen wrote via Facebook informing the world of his friend’s passing on the 29th of September. “Tommy was extremely private. “We lost a beautiful soul,” her husband, Puffin Thompson, wrote on Instagram in which he said the couple had responded to “so many texts of people just checking in on her without even knowing of her passing. It’s great to see how loved she was. And she loved all you right back. I’ll continue to love her and miss her forever.”

Roger Michell

The Notting Hill director died at 65 on the 22nd of September His family confirmed the news in a statement made public through his official spokesperson.

The former singer and band member of the R&B trio Labelle died on the 20th of September at the age of 76.

Anthony ‘A.J.’ Johnson

The comedian, famous for his appearances at Friday Night Live and House Party, died on September 6, aged 55, his agent, LyNea Bell confirmed to Deadline several weeks afterward. “The world of comedy has truly been shaken, again,” Bell stated when she announced his death. “Our BH Talent family is heartbroken about the loss of the iconic legend of stage and screen Mr. Anthony ‘A.J.’ Johnson. He has left with us amazing memories of his laughter, dynamic acting skills, but most of all his enormous personality and heart of gold.”

The statement added “We will be in constant prayer for his entire family including his wife Lexis, three children, brother Edward ‘Peanut’ Smith, sister Sheila, and lifetime manager and friend Mike D. Please give them the time they need to process and grieve such a huge loss.”

Norm Macdonald

The Saturday Night Live alum’s manager announced his passing on September 14 following the comedian’s nine-year fight with cancer. He was at the age of 61. “He was most proud of his comedy,” Macdonald’s longtime producer Lori Jo Hoekstra told Us in an interview. “He didn’t want his diagnosis to influence how the public or his loved ones viewed him. Norm was a pure comedian. One time, he wrote “a joke should take someone off guard, and it should never be a pandering. He never pandered. Norm will be missed greatly.”

Sarah Harding

A former Girl’s Aloud crooner died in September, after fighting cancer. She was 39.

The mother of the singer, Marie Hardman, confirmed the news in a post via the artist’s Instagram. “It’s with deep heartbreak that today I’m sharing the news that my beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed away,” the post reads. “Many people will be aware about Sarah’s battle with cancer and the fact that she fought for so long after being diagnosed until the day she died. She passed away peacefully on this morning. I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone for their support and kindness throughout the last year. It was a blessing to Sarah and provided her with great confidence and peace of mind knowing they loved her. I’m sure she wouldn’t like to be remembered because of her battle against this terrible disease . She was a shining light and I’m sure that’s the way she is rather remembered.”

Willard Scott

A former Today meteorologist’s demise was made public via Al Roker.

“We lost a dear member of our family on the Today Show this morning. Willard Scott passed peacefully at the age of 87 , surrounded by his loved ones and his two daughters Sally and Mary and his gorgeous spouse, Paris,” Roker posted a picture of Scott as well as Scott on the 4th of September. “He was my true second father, and I am where am today thanks to his generosity. Willard was a legend of his time and was the best broadcaster. There will never be another as great as him.”

Before he became a weatherman the clown was his first job. Scott was popularly known for his role as Bozo the clown and was a household name in Washington, D.C., and he was also known as the first Ronald McDonald.
