Fall/Winter 2012 Runway Hairstyles

Designers and fashion consumers alike seem to have fallen so deeply in love with the trends of this year’s warm season that they have decided to keep them for several more months. Apart from some minor changes, the fall/winter 2012 runway hairstyles are very similar to the ones we have seen in the previous collections.

Loose textures and waves continue to remain the favorite hairstyles of this winter, judging by the number of designers who have chosen a relaxed look for their models. This trend is perfect for women with curly or wavy hair as they no longer have to use a curling iron to style their locks. A texturizer or a shine serum is enough to create a casual glam effect and enhance your natural curls.

At the opposite end, are the everlasting ponytails, which have made a strong comeback this year. Given their functionality, ponytails represent the best choice for cold days. Designers have inspired us with numerous ideas, so you can gather your hair in a low, centered, high or even swished to the side ponytail, depending on your preferences. Sleek and side-parted ponytails were a constant presence on the runways, but you can also add a little bit of volume on the crown for a more 60s inspired look.

Braids have been every girl’s ally this summer and it seems like the trend will continue for at least a season. Hair gurus invent new braided coifs each day, so there is a wide range of looks you may recreate for a casual, day style. Whether you opt for a half-up half-down braided hairstyle, a side braid or a messy braided bun this trend is very practical because it helps you keep your hair in place and look chic at the same time.

Last, but not least, designers recommend the updos for the fall/winter 2012 season. These hairstyles represent a quick fix during the “bad hair” days and they can work miracles on your overall look. The look is also very versatile as you can wear a messy bun, a ballerina bun, a braided bun, etc. The best advantage, however, is that you only need 2 minutes to shape your hair into any updo you like, so it’s a perfect choice for busy women.
