Drew Barrymore’s half-sister was found dead in California. Jessica Barrymore’s body was found on early Tuesday morning. It has been reported that the woman was actually found in her vehicle.
Apparently, a woman discovered that Jessica’s vehicle was blocking her driveway. She found Jessica’s body, behind the wheel. At the time when she discovered Jessica in her car, the woman was unresponsive, which made the stranger call the police on the scene. Reports reveal that an autopsy will be made to discover the cause of death.
However, various witnesses have claimed that dozens of white pills were in the vehicle in which Jessica Barrymore was found. Still, Jessica’s brother, John Barrymore, said that probably his sister died of drug overdose. The 60 year old man claimed that his sister did not commit suicide and she died of accidental overdose. John is the half-brother of both Jessica and famous actress Drew Barrymore.
“It looks like it was a drug misadventure. Mixing alcohol and pills. I seriously doubt she took her own life,” John said according to the Daily News. “There were some empty vodka bottles, a couple bags meth and a variety of pills in the car. My guess is that it was the booze and pills, like with Heath Ledger,” he added. Well, it is yet to find out if Jessica really died of an overdose or which is the exact reason which has caused this tragic news. John claimed that his sister was using a series of substances before her death.
Jessica Barrymore was the daughter of late actress Nina Wayne and John Barrymore. On the other hand, Drew is the daughter of John and Jaid, the actor’s third wife. The two sisters shared the same father. Drew Barrymore and her sister have never been close. In fact, the popular Hollywood star released a statement to People, linked to the tragic news.
“Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible, and I’m so incredibly sorry for their loss,” the statement said. In fact, Jessica had been Drew’s elder sister. She would have turned 48 on Thursday.
