Disney Channel announced on Tuesday that the debut of their famous series “Sofia The First” will take place on January 11. The children’s show will be broadcast on Disney Channel as well as the rest of Disney Junior networks.
Kids have been waiting for “Sofia The First” to return on the small screens for a long period of time. Disney Channel has finally responded to their request by informing viewers that the series will return on all their networks starting on January 11.
“Sofia The First” is a cartoon that was produced for kids aged 2 to 5. The storyline revolves around a little girl named Sofia who discovers that you need to be honest, loyal and compassionate in order to be a royal. The voice of the main character, Sofia, was provided by “Modern Family” star Ariel Winters. Sofia’s mother is interpreted by “Grey’s Anatomy” actress, Sara Ramirez.
The new animated series that is due to debut in 2013 features many famous Disney Princesses. Sofia will be trained to become a royal with the help of her three family fairies, Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. They are occasionally helped by other famous Disney characters like Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White and Ariel. The morale of the story is that being a princess must come from the heart, not from the way you look or the clothes that you wear. However, young girls will have many reasons to envy Princess Sofia as she will wear pretty dresses and sparkly shoes.
“Sofia The First” debuted on November 18 with a one-hour special. Children were anxious to see the series as the debut registered an audience of 5 million viewers. The cartoon became the most watched cable TV telecast for children aged 2 to 5.
