If you’ve seen Christina Aguilera’s “Your Body” video then it’s likely you’ve noticed “The Voice” coach has a much fuller figure. In a recent interview Christina Aguilera revealed past pressure to be thin and has opened about her obviously extra pounds and using more liner to look more latina.

In the showbiz world, record producers literally own an artist’s image. Or at least in the early days, before that artist gains recognition just enough to do things their own way. In a recent interview, Christina Aguilera snapped at her record producers and revealed she was pressured to be thin. When she gained extra pounds, producers first refused to work with a fat girl, then sort of came to terms with Christina Aguilera’s fuller figure.

Christina Aguilera told Us Weekly she is now in control of her image and body. “I told them during this Lotus recording ‘You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it” Christina Aguilera snapped at her record producers. “They need a reminder sometimes that I don’t belong to them. It’s my body. My body can’t put anyone in jeopardy of not making money any more – my body is just not on the table that way any more” the 31-year-old artist added.

“The Voice” coach confessed that in the past record producers pressured her to be thin. “During the promotion of my album Stripped, I got tired of being a skinny, white girl. I am Ecuadorian but people felt so safe passing me off as a skinny, blue-eyed white girl” Christina Aguilera confessed.

“The next time my label saw me, I was heavier, darker and full of piercings! Let me tell you, that wasn’t an easy pill for them to swallow” recalled Christina Aguilera. “I had gained 15 pounds during promotion and during my Stripped tour. They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight” she said. “Basically, they told me I would affect a lot of people if I gained weight – the production, musical directors” and “would sell no records or tickets for my shows” the artist added.

Christina Aguilera confessed she submitted to the pressure to be thin and “lost the weight quickly and was toothpick thin during Back To Basics promos and touring”.
