The Inquisitr reports that Christie Brinkley was honored for her environmental work over the weekend with a party held at the South Fork Natural History Museum 23rd annual summer benefit, SOFO Goes SOHO.
The model was grateful to those who appreciated her efforts as an activist. Christie Brinkley and her three children, Sailor, 13, Alexa Ray, 26 and Jack, 17 showed up at the 23 rd annual summer benefit program called SOFO Goes SOHO which was held at the South Fork Natural History Museum.
The American model had many reasons to be present at the ceremony as the museum was honoring her for the environmental work she has made in the past few years. Brinkley is one of the strongest activists at present because she supported numerous green organizations and causes throughout her career.
In addition, she was involved in nuclear disarmament campaigns, as well as charities related to children’s welfare. The former model received a Buddhist scroll which said that “Happiness is not so much in having as in sharing”. She was overwhelmed with emotions to see that her environmental work was actually appreciated.
In addition, Brinkley was excited to have her three children on her side during the ceremony. She wrote on her Facebook page at the end of the honor that it was a lovely setting and that she was able to meet many important people who promote environmental issues.
According to sources, the music was provided by Keith Richards’ daughter Alexandra. The setting was elegantly decorated and guests were able to serve cocktails all night long. This is not the only accomplishment that the singer made this year.
She has recently finished the work for the musical “Chicago” where she plays the part of Roxie Hart. The musical ran for two weeks at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood and the actress was very nostalgic before the final representation of the matinee.
She wrote on her Facebook account that it was “an honor, a privilege, a dream come true” to be able to perform in the show. She added that she will always remember the representation with “love and gratitude”.
