Actor Chris Pine is in trouble. The star was arrested for drunk driving in New Zealand, it has been reported.
The 33-year old actor was actually pulled over by the cops in New Zealand back on March 1. It all happened as Mark was returning from a party for Z for Zachariah. The star was charged for driving under the influence, as his blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit. The actor was stopped by the police for a routine check.
Initially, it was not known that the man in cause was actor Chris Pine. As he was arrested for drunk driving, the case will go to trial, so reps for the police claimed that they cannot reveal nothing else at this point, as the case will be presented in front of a court.
Chris Pine is well known for playing the role of Captain Kirk in the Star Trek movies. Pine was filming for the movie Z for Zachariah in New Zealand. The star will have to attend the first court appearance on this case on Monday.
Casey Crawford, manager of the Blue Pub, where Chris Pine was spotted celebrating with the cast of this upcoming movie, claimed that the actor arrived there with his girlfriend, Iris Bjork Johannesdottir. The manager of the bar added that Chris spent most of the time with her. It has been revealed that Iris Bjork Johannesdottir arrived sooner that day and the actor just wanted to spend time with his girlfriend.
The man added that he saw Pine drinking beer and that the actor did not appear to be intoxicated before he left the bar. Apparently, the actor headed home with his girlfriend around 2:30 a.m. Crawford told The Press that Chris Pine was “really good. They were a good crowd, the whole lot of them.” He went on to explain that transportation was provided for the cast, so he had no idea why Pine was driving.
Z for Zachariah promises to be an interesting project, as the movie also stars Margot Robbie and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Reps for the actor have made no comments on this case, until now.
