Based on a recent report published by Reuters, the Chicago Bulls horned the Miami Heat during the Wednesday game even if they were missing one of their most valuable players, Derrick Rose. The winning points were scored by John Lucas III towards the end of the game. He scored 24 points, thus helping the Bulls beat the Heat with 106 points against 102.
Analysts were expecting the Chicago team to lose the Wednesday competition because they were one player short. Derrick Rose has suffered a severe injury during the previous games and was now forced to sit on the bench and give moral support to his colleagues.
Despite Rose’s absence, the Bulls managed to add another victory to their list of accomplishments. Nevertheless, they couldn’t have done it if it hadn’t been for John Lucas III, a player that no one was expecting to become a game winner as soon as he did. There were only six seconds left out of the game when Lucas scored 11 points. In addition, the Chicago player registered two clinching free throws that turned the score of the game in Chicago’s favor.
The Chicago team was well-prepared for the game. They had a lead over their Miami opponents and they managed to reject the attacks of the Heat players the entire game. Dwayne Wade and LeBron James made a lot of efforts during the Wednesday match, but they did not succeed in scoring a victory. According to analysts, Wade registered 36 points, whereas James finished with 35. The third quarter was the most difficult part of the game for Miami because they fell behind by 17 points and they had to claw their way back. It is, however, remarkable that they reduced the difference to only 4 points as the game was coming to an end.
This is not the first time the two teams play against each other during the Eastern Conference. Last year, Miami Heat got into the finals and defeated the Chicago Bulls, thus becoming the Eastern Conference Champion.
