Based on a recent report published by Mass News Media, actress Charlize Theron has shaved her hair off for a new role. The star will play the part of Furiosa in “Mad Max: Fury Road”, so she has agreed to undergo a complete makeover.

We have already grown accustomed with celebrities who change their look for movie parts that might bring them the recognition of the Academy. Following in the footsteps of Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron is the second actress who shaves off her hair for a role this year.

The actress was spotted on Monday during a walk with her adoptive son, Jackson. Although she had covered her hair with a beige fedora, reporters could easily see that her hair is very short. The news was later on confirmed by the actress’ reps who stated that Theron is indeed preparing for a new movie role.

Charlize has brought a lot of glamour to the recent productions “Snow White and The Huntsman” and “Prometheus” thanks to her long blonde locks. Things are about to change because her character, Furiosa from “Mad Max: Fury Road” is almost bald and the actress had to cut off her hair.

The movie is a remake of the 1979 production which was highly popularized thanks to Mel Gibson’s interpretation. “Fury Road” was directed by George Miller who was also present during the filming of the first motion picture. He told the press that he plans to make two other sequels besides the current one. The upcoming movies will feature the same actors, that is, Tom Hardy who interprets Max, Nicholaus Hoult as Nux, and Theron as Furiosa. The release date of the movie remains unknown for the moment.

This is not the first time that Charlize Theron goes through a complete makeover for a movie part. In 2003, she gained 30 pounds, shaved her eyebrows and wore prosthetic teeth in order to portray the real-life serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the movie “Monster”. Her efforts paid off as the actress was awarded with an Oscar for her veridical interpretation.
