The famous actor revealed that he was HIV positive during an appearance on Today show. The star said that hiding this secret for so long has been extremely difficult for him. “I think I released myself from this prison today,” Sheen said. 

The popular actor went on to explain that he was extorted for millions of dollars by people who knew about his diagnosis and threatened with going public about it. “I have to put a stop to this barrage of attacks of sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about me that are threatening the health of so many others,” the star went on to explain. 

During his interview, Sheen also revealed that he had suffered from depression, period during which he did a lot of drugs. The famous actor did not reveal how he contracted the virus.
