Celine Dion has made an important decision for her family. The star chose to cancel her tour to be able to take care of her sick husband. Celine has revealed that Rene Angelil needs her to be there for him. 

Celine announced the cancelation of her Las Vegas show, as well as of her upcoming tour in Asia. The star claimed that she just wants to focus on her family and husband, but also on her health. Rene Angelil underwent a serious surgery back in December. He had to go through this medical intervention to remove a cancerous tumor. This is what a rep for the star said back then. 

“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children,” Celine Dion said in a statement she gave to ABC News. “I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support,” the popular singer added. 

Rene Angelil has always been much involved in the career of his wife. However, last year he announced that he will step down from this role, to be able to focus more on his health. Still, it has been claimed that Rene has always remained involved in the business. Rene was diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2000. 

Celine Dion has had some difficult past years. Not only that her husband had some health problems, but the singer had also been battling a disease. The star had struggled with an inflammation in her throat muscles. Celine has not recovered yet from this health problem. 

“It’s been a very difficult and stressful time for the couple as they deal with the day-to-day challenges of fighting [Angélil’s] disease while trying to juggle a very active show business schedule, and raise their three young children,” a publicist for Celine Dion said. The star and her family are seeking privacy during this difficult time.
