A pandemic won’t prevent wedding bells from bells ringing. As the world opened in 2021 following the COVID-19 outbreak, celebrities were eager to tie the knot.

The first couple to get married was Alexander Ludwig and Lauren Dear who announced that they had got married in Utah after a one-month engagement on the 4th of January. The next step was Jennifer Wayne and Austin Moody were married on the 9th of January following an engagement of two weeks.

“I’m still in complete shock but I’m humbled and honored to introduce you to Mrs. Moody,” the bluegrass artist wrote on Instagram on the day of the incident. “Now greater than before I’m able to fully admire and value all that she has to offer. I’ve never known anyone who is so compassionate and kind to those she has met and also to strangers. In the midst of not knowing she is teaching me how to become an improved person every single day I spend with her. It’s amazing that I got to marry my most beloved acquaintance … Jennifer, today I am in the world a completely new man thanks to the affection I’ve received from you. From now on, you’ll never walk on your own.”

Another trend in 2021? Secret weddings! Aubrey Plaza subtly revealed on May 7 that she and her long-time boyfriend, Jeff Baena, tied the knot in a way that referred to Jeff Baena in the title of”her “darling husband” in an Instagram post.

“Whoa !!!! Just heard from my husband and I’m sending you happiness and love, and congrats and best wishes !!!! Congratulations!” Mary Steenburgen wrote in an online comment. “UM HUSBAND HOLD ON THERE,” an admirer added.

Just a few days following, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez were married in a private ceremony.

“It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people,” Grande’s representative said to DailyGossip the 17th of May. “The space was so happy and filled with affection. The couple, as well as both families could not be happier.”

Netflix’s Lucifer revealed that Lavi’s character, Eve who was married to her husband the season 6 premiered on September 10 and the actress was married in the real-life wedding a few days after. Lavi tied the knot with her business partner in their home country of Israel on the 13th of September. The bride was wearing three dresses designed by the designer Daniella Hajaj all night long.

“We literally created it for me from scratch. It was incredible,” Lavi told Brides. “We began to pull strings and tied ribbons until we came across the style we loved. It was extremely creative and fun and a perfect match for the essence that the ceremony.”
