Joss Christensen Wins Gold Medal in Sochi

Joss Christensen was extremely happy to win his first gold medal at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games. Actually, the slopestyle skier dedicated his victory to his late father. 

In an emotional moment, Joss Christensen paid tribute to his late father, who unfortunately passed away last year in a Utah hospital before a competition of his son. He suffered from a heart condition.

In fact, Joss Christensen was the most unlikely American gold medalist at the Sochi Olympics, but the star managed to surprise everyone, with a beautiful win. 

Winning this Olympic gold medal was even more beautiful as Joss said that he dedicates it to his father. “I wish he was here”, the talented skier said. “I hope he’s looking down and smiling. I did it for him,” the star added. Debbie, Joss’ mother, said that her late husband would have been so proud of his son now. 

When he reached the bottom of the hill, Joss Christensen knew that he had won, so he raised his hands. The victory was even more impressive, as the judges awarded the star with a score of 95.80. 

While Joss Christensen took the unexpected gold at this competition, the podium included two more Americans. Gus Kenworthy took silver, while Nick Goepper managed to win bronze.
