“Call Me Maybe” took Billboard Hot 100 by storm. It stayed on top of the chart for nine weeks and Carly Rae Jepsen’s new album “Kiss” is likely to hold more gold singles. In an interview with MTV News, Carly Rae Jepsen talked about new album “Kiss”.
Carly Rae Jepsen’s new album “Kiss” is set to hit the stores September 18th. With less than one month to go, everybody is excited about what the new album holds. Carly Rae Jepsen told MTV News her fans will definitely relate to the songs on “Kiss”.
“It really is an album about love, flirtation and the beginning of things and it felt like it really suited it” said Carly Rae Jepsen of her album’s name. “As well, there’s a track called ‘This Kiss’ on the album, which I think is probably my favorite song so that’s probably why” she added.
“Kiss” is an album the artist has been working at for years now. “I’ve written on almost every song and these are lyric ideas that I’ve been collecting since I was like 17, so it’s really fun to get to see them put to life” said Carly Rae Jepsen. “It’s cool to be able to say with confidence that this is an album that I feel like I’ve been waiting to make and I’m ready to finally have out there” she added.
The new Carly Rae Jepsen album features quite a few collaborations with high profile artists, such as Owl City, Justin Bieber and RedFoo. “I’ve been really lucky” Carly Rae Jepsen told MTV News. “At the beginning of this process the label sat me down and they honestly said, ‘Pick your dream producers, collaborations, write us a list and we’ll see what we can do” the artist confessed.
Justin Bieber was also stoked about her Carly Rae Jepsen’s new album. He tweeted his so called “seal of approval”: “@carlyraejepsen listened to your album today at rehearsal with @scooterbraun and the crew. GREAT JOB! #KISS”.
“He digs it” said Carly Rae Jepsen of Bieber’s take on her new album. “I was stoked, him and Scooter. Scooter called me…and he’s like ‘It’s fantastic, you should be pumped’, and it’s not often that I say that I am, but I am pumped” said the singer.
