Kitchen is closed. Bobby Flay is cutting ties with the Food Network after nearly 30 years of being on the channel.
The celebrity chef, who is 56 years old, was working to put together an extension of her contract to the channel, as per an Variety report that was published on the 7th of October on a Thursday. Flay’s current contract of three years will expire at the close of the year, however negotiations to renew it won’t go on as per the report.
The Gato owner started his career in the Food Network in 1994, quickly becoming an international household name. He has been the face of numerous popular shows that include Beat Bobby Flay, Grillin Chillin’ ‘n Grillin’, Brunch at Bobby’s which totals 16 specials and shows in his repertoire. The New Yorker has also been a judge for The Next Food Network Star along with The Next Iron Chef.

In 2017 Flay surprised a number of foodies by stepping off of his position in Iron Chef America. In the next year, he spoke himself about how filming the cooking contest took its toll on his health.
“I’ve been through more than 100 Iron Chef competitions, and it’s true that they’re exhausting. They’re exhausting physically, but, perhaps more mentally,” he admitted during the 2018 South Beach Wine & Food Festival. “When I go through an entire season, I play between 6 and 8 (batseach week. it is a huge burden because it’s a whole hour of energy, energy, and creativity. So at one point, I was thinking”I’ve done this for quite a long period of time and I’d like to get out with a bang. ‘”
After he quit the series for good Bobby Flay Cooks, the Bobby Flay cooks American author was reported to have took off his chef’s jacket and revealed a shirt that read “This is my last Iron Chef battle ever.” The move didn’t go like he’d planned.
“The network was not thrilled,” he said during the festival in 2018. “I believed it would make great television. They didn’t consider it in that way, but that’s clearly their prerogative.”
In the same year, the Bobby’s Burger Palace owner noted that he would like to see some new faces on the network. He added “I believe that Iron Chef is a great venue for younger and fresh individuals to step up and begin taking over the reins. How often would you like to see Bobby Flay do Iron Chef?”
The most shabby cooks on the planet! America coach has not yet publicly commented about his departure. In the spring of this year, he started”Always Hungry,” his “Always Hungry” podcast with his daughter of 25 years, Sophie, whom he has with his ex-wife Kate Connelly. Flay is also married Stephanie March for 10 years before they finalized their divorce in the year of 2015.
