The beloved Hollywood icon Betty White turns 90 on January 17, but her anniversary was celebrated earlier through an NBC’s televised birthday bash, says The Wrap. The show, which was hosted on Monday night, featured a series of jokes and surprises that definitely made Betty feel in the center of attention.

Numerous celebrity guests were present at the NBC special edition. They took turns to dance, sing and tell aging jokes about Betty White who was very excited about the party. At a certain point, the Emmy winner also received a surprise marriage proposal from “Chuck” star Zachary Levi. The actress responded with a surprise smooch.

Mary Tyler Moore, Tina Fey, Carol Burnett, Amy Poehler, Ellen DeGeneres, Carl Reiner, Joel McHale, Hugh Jackman and Ray Romano were some of the many celebrities who were present at the “Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America’s Golden Girl” celebration. The show was followed by a preview of the actress’ upcoming series. “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers” is a serial during which Betty sets up various hidden-camera pranks to her guests.

Amy Poehler was one of the comedians to joke about Betty White’s age. She told that “America’s Golden Girl” will most likely hear a lot of aging jokes from now on, but luckily she won’t remember them the next day, thus alluding to the actress’ fading memory. 78-year-old Carol Burnett ironically stated that she heard about Betty from her grandmother’s story.

The most important moment of the evening was when “Chuck” star Zachary Levi confessed that he would like to be the mother of Betty White’s children. The actor further stated that he even likes the sound of the two names: Zach White and Betty Levi. The 90-year-old actress responded by planting a big smooch on Zachary’s lips and telling him to forget about the other women.

Levi even brought an engagement ring and a prenuptial contract with him in case Betty White accepted his proposal. Later on, he joked by saying that if she doesn’t give him an answer in 30 minutes, he will propose to fellow comedian Carol Burnett.
