The fact that the United States President Barack Obama and the hip-hop mogul Jay-Z are bound by a powerful friendship is no longer a secret. The two talk about everything and Obama often uses his experience as a father of two daughters to give Jay-Z parenting advice, Us Weekly reports.
Jay-Z has declared on numerous occasions that he is a fervid supporter of the African-American President, whereas Barack Obama has made it clear that Beyoncé’s husband is his favorite rap singer. The “Hard Knock Life” interpreter recently met with the President during a campaign fundraiser that was hosted at his 40/40 club in New York. The two families spent the entire evening together being involved in animated and fun conversations.
Barack Obama shed some light on his friendship with Jay-Z in a recent interview he released for Cleveland’s Z107.9. He told listeners that he has grown very close to the young artists because they have spent a lot of time together in the past years. He described Jay-Z and his wife, Beyoncé Knowles, as “down to earth people” and confessed that he likes being able to discuss everything with them.
The commander-in-chief further added that during the September campaign fundraiser he made sure Jay-Z was helping his wife with her parental responsibilities. He told the hip-hop artist that his wife and his mother-in-law must not be the only ones who take care of the 10-month-old Blue Ivy. Obama, himself, does his best to be a good father, despite the political responsibilities he might have.
The two men are not the only ones who seem to be very close friends. Michelle Obama and Beyoncé Knowles have gotten very close to each other since their hubbies spend so much time together. They, too, share pieces of advice about motherhood, while Michelle’s daughters, Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, love to play with little Blue Ivy. When it comes to choosing a song from Jay-Z’s repertoire, Obama stated he likes “My First Song” over “99 Problems” because it reminds him to “always stay hungry”.
