In a galaxy far, far away, Angry Birds turn into Star Wars characters. Rovio will launch an Angry Birds Star Wars edition early November.
Angry Birds Star Wars edition is almost up and ready to rock your gaming life on PC and smartphone or tablet. Early November, Rovio will launch a new version of Angry Birds, that to tell you the truth, seems to be the most exciting of the past few years.
People at Lucasfilm Ltd. and Rovio Entertainment joined forces to release a brand new version of Angry Birds. Rovio CMO Peter Vesterbacka described the Angry Birds Star Wars edition as the “best Angry Birds game we’ve ever done”. The idea for a Star Wars inspired game first started with the Angry Birds Space.
“There were a lot of huge ‘Star Wars’ fans on the design team and we thought, ‘Where do we go here after launching the space game?…so Angry Birds Star Wars was a singular leap from Angry Birds Space” said Ville Heijari, vice president of franchise development.
“It’s the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in a galaxy far, far away” Vesterbacka added. “As a big ‘Star Wars’ fan myself, I’m really excited about this new universe. The Force is definitely strong with this one” reads Vesterbacka’s statement.
For the moment, Rovio isn’t that loose with details about the new Angry Birds game, but Ville Heijari, vice president of franchise development, released more hints. The Angry Birds will not only turn into Star Wars characters but the gameplay will feature familiar scenes from all the Star Wars movies.
“Our teams have collaborated in creating the perfect mashup of Star Wars characters and Angry Birds characters” said Ville Heijari. Whereas, Red Bird will be Luke Skywalker “other birds will be different characters from the ‘Star Wars’ universe and have special powers according to their Star Wars role”.
Angry Birds Star Wars will be released November 8th and will be available on iOS, Mac, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, PC, Windows Phone and Windows 8. And guess what?! We think the Star Wars version is going to be a much bigger success than any of the previous.
