Angelina Jolie received the Citizen of Sarajevo Award during the 18th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival which was hosted on Saturday. It was the perfect occasion for the actress to rock her much-discusses engagement ring for the first time at a public event, says Us Weekly.
As simple as always, actress Angelina Jolie showed up at the 18th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival wearing a beige shirt and a pair of black skinny pants. It was, thus, the engagement ring that drew everyone’s attention, especially since it was the first time the actress displayed it during a public event.
Jolie took advantage of the famous film festival to promote her movie “In the Land of Blood and Honey”. Much to her surprise, the organizers of the show named her Citizen of Sarajevo due to the humanitarian work she has developed in the region. The 37-year-old star declared that she is truly honored to receive this award, especially since she is very attached to Sarajevo.
The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Mr. Fikret Musi?, was the one who handed the honorary prize to Angelina Jolie. In her speech, she described her first directing experience, stating that it wasn’t as easy as it looked. According to her, making a movie about Bosnia was one of the most difficult tasks she had to accomplish because she didn’t want her movie to offend the local people. She later on, confessed that her perception changed completely during the time she spent in Bosnia because she had the chance to meet wonderful people.
Jolie was accompanied by her 6-year-old daughter during her stay in Sarajevo. The two were spotted in front of their hotel, on Saturday afternoon. Even though the actress was not in company of her future husband, Brad Pitt, and the rest of her children, they, nevertheless, get to spend plenty of time together as the entire family has moved to London while the actress is filming “Maleficent” at Pinewood Studios.
