Home again. A few months after the American idol’s Syesha Mercado claimed her son Amen’Ra had been “medically kidnapped,” she and her co-star Tyron Deener have been reunited with the child.
“AMEN’RA is officially home”AMEN’RA IS OFFICIALLY HOME “!” her singer who is 34 captioned the footage of the family’s happy reunion on 2 October.
In the video the Florida native singing “Yay” and “Happy happy happy” to Amen’Ra who is now twenty months old and counting, as Deener 36, was filming the moment from the front of their vehicle.
“So, we just wanted to make this quick video because this is a great moment to have Ra physically back with us, but it’s not over with,” Deener said in the Instagram post. “He’s back, he’s with us, but we’ve gotta deal with six months of supervision of the state coming into our home every week for the next six months, to show that we’re competent and able to raise our own baby.”
A few days after days later, the Broadway actress thought about the impact of her son’s being taken from her care in February.
“My sun and I were held hostage at Johns Hopkins @allchildrens hospital & when I asked what is the GOAL they want for him & what will it take for my sun to be discharged … they kept mentioning ounces,” Mercado said on October 5, Tuesday “They were hoping to see him gain a certain number of ounces. However, when he reached the goal, they changed the target to a different amount. Now, he’s back in our care and they’re insisting that he isn’t able to lose weight. That is UNREALISTIC and abusive.”
She added, “We were closely MONITORED in that hospital, and having eyes on us at all times and documentation of input and output, as well as daily weigh-ins. My sun lost and gained pounds all the time. Even had a patient on the floor with me and observe me feeding him. What do they now expect from him to not lose weight? This is not realistic and is not a way to live a life. The current state of affairs is a dark cloud that hangs over our lives. The last few days have made us shine more brightly than ever before. We won’t be broken.”
It was reported that the American Idol season 7 contestant spoke out about the future for their family, saying “Amen’Ra didn’t deserve” to endure the pain at this young age. Mercado added that she as well as Deener have to “provide documentation” about their son’s eating habits as well as perform “regular weight checks” for the state.
“We are completely capable of looking after our children. We’re competent to keep our Sun healthy and happy,” she continued, she argued, “The state tried to split my family in order to Steal Ast as well as Ra’s Light. However, the thing about the light … It is possible to catch it but it will never stop shining. What you did is to make my family members shine brighter.”

This reunion of the couple with Amen’Ra occurs just two months after the couple celebrated their the homecoming of their daughter, Ast, who is two months old. Ast was removed away from them earlier in the year following concerns over her health.
“We’ve had Ast on our side. We’d like to”thank you,”” Deener said in an Instagram Live video on August. “We have a lot to finish to get ‘Ra’ back. Thank you , because of you we got the right support to obtain the top lawyers throughout the nation.”
The couple had complained earlier in the month that their baby girl was taken away by force from their custody following an unintentional welfare check at the side of the road carried out by the department of sheriffs in the area.
“Do you feel nothing? Hey, I’m human,” Mercado tearfully asked the first responders at the scene in the moment via the Instagram recording. “This is my child. My baby is just a few days old, and you’re separating my baby from me. … You’re inflicting pain on my baby. How can you do this? You’re lacking in heart. It’s so wrong. I’m the one who holds the city’s key (which she was given following her Idol appearance in 2008] … It’s my job to keep it together. I’m strong.”
A few months earlier, the couple’s son was removed due to malnutrition allegations following the singer’s decision to take from breastmilk. When Mercado’s milk began to run dry in her second pregnancy and her son was struggling to adjust to eating solid foods and solid food, they brought the child to hospital for treatment in the month of February in order to help him get the nutrition he needed.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office previously informed Fox 13 Tampa Bay at the time that doctors contacted the police in concern about his health, noting that Amen’Ra was underweight and malnourished before Amen’Ra was put into foster care.
