As she previously said, famous actress Amber Heard decided to donate her USD 7 million divorce settlement to charity. Amber Heard and her former husband have announced their divorce settlement only a few days ago. Even since the first moment when it has been revealed that the former couple reached an agreement and Amber will be getting in exchange for withdrawing her allegations USD 7 million, the star claimed that she will not keep the money, but have them donated to good use.
“As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves. As reported in the media, the amount received in the divorce was $7 million and $7 million is being donated. This is over and above any funds that I have given away in the past and will continue to give away in the future,” Amber Heard officially stated.
The star also explained that a part of the money will go to ACLU and the other to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Amber revealed her trust that both organizations will use the money good and will help stop violence against women, on one hand, and will help children, on the other. Amber claimed that she will continue to support these charities in the future, as well.
The settlement ends months of scandal between Amber and her former husband Johnny Depp. It all started when the beautiful actress filed for divorce and accused her ex-husband of physical and verbal violence throughout their entire relationship. Amber even went to obtain a restraining order against Johnny, saying that she was really scared of him.
As previously reported, the divorce settlement also ends the domestic violence allegations that Amber has raised against the actor. Johnny Depp has not commented on this whole story, but the actor was definitely impacted when a video emerged online showing him in a rage scene, turning violent and smashing things around him. The actor has remained silent about the video as well.
