Fans of the famous college football team were anxiously waiting to see how the Monday game will end. Thanks to an unbeatable defense and the contribution of several valuable football players, Alabama managed to win the BCS title over Louisiana State University, says ESPN.
This is the second national title that the Crimson Tide wins in three seasons. The New Orleans game had been prepared for two months by the Alabama team, so the outcome of the Monday competition was no surprise to them. The team did everything in its power to dominate which is why the Louisiana State Tigers didn’t manage to cross the midfield until the last eight minutes of the game.
The Monday BCS championship game ended with an amazing score of 21-0 in favor of the Alabama team. Coach Nick Saban’s strategy was highly appreciated by the fans of the team. He received 55 of 60 first-place votes.
Offensive lineman Barrett Jones was the first to speak with the press after the game. He told reporters that the team knew what they were capable of, so they did not fear that they will lose the game. The disposition of the entire Alabama squad was up before the game. Jones added that they all felt like dominating the field on Monday night and this is what happened, in the end.
Courtney Upshaw and Dont’a Hightower were the best players of the night. Their defense was so strong that the Louisiana Tigers never had the chance to score. LSU tried several schemes, but they didn’t work out thanks to the resistance of the Crimson Tide. Jordan Jefferson tried to make a pass, but he was immediately blocked by his opponents. Jefferson stated after the game that it was all a “nightmare”. LSU’s offense was useless in front of Alabama’s defense.
Alabama and LSU also played against each other last year on November 5. Back then, the Tigers defeated the Crimson Tide with 12-1 during the overtime. Looks like Alabama studied the game tactics of their LSU rivals, thus gaining the victory during the rematch of the century.
