Famous actor Al Pacino will return to Broadway. The famous actor is set to play the role of a billionaire in the production that will start in October, 2015. It seems that this was a role that the actor could simply not refuse.
The Tony Award winning actor will have a part in China Doll, a production by David Mamet. “I wrote it for Al,” Mamet actually claimed. “It is better than oral sex,” David Mamet’s statement added. So, Al Pacino will play the role of a wealthy man, who decides to offer his young girlfriend a new plane as a wedding gift. The man just wants to enjoy life now, planning to go into semiretirement.

This is not the first time when Al Pacino appears on Broadway. The famous actor has also been featured in American Buffalo and Glengarry Glen Ross, two popular Broadway productions by David Mamet. Glengarry Glen Ross actually won a Pulitzer Prize. So, the two have previously worked together and done an amazing job, so there is no wonder after all that a new collaboration might be in the works.
“For me over the years the relationship and the collaboration with David Mamet has been one of the richest and most rewarding,” Al Pacino claimed. He added that he hasn’t been featured in such a role for a long time and he actually missed this experience. “It’s a special gift to originate a role in the theater,” the Hollywood star said.
Al Pacino is 74 years old now. The popular actor has had numerous successful movie roles throughout the years. He starred in Scent of a Woman, a movie for which Pacino actually won an Academy Award.
