Loveable and skilled Adele has been out of the game for about five months now. After she had to undergo a throat surgery, her musical career had to be halted for a while, to allow recovery. But she’s got planned an amazing comeback, as Adele has been confirmed to perform at Grammy Awards 2012.
Yesterday, Adele made the official announcement on Twitter, and being as thrilled as possible. She tweeted: “Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It’s been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can’t wait, speak soon xx”.
And what good and exciting news coming from the two times Grammy winner Adele. She is also nominated for six gongs at the Grammys, including the Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for her great hit LP, 21.
Adele said about her performance at the upcoming Grammy Awards, later this month: “I’m immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards. It’s an absolute honor to be included in such a night”. Plus, as she points out, it will be her first performance in months so Adele is pretty excited about such a nerve-racking situation. But, as she concludes her statement “what a way to get back into it all”.
Adele isn’t the only star to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards. Joining her on stage will be Rihanna, Coldplay, Paul McCartney and Nicki Minaj. This year marks the 54th Grammy Awards, ceremony which will be held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on 12th February. And LL Cool J will be there to host it. You can enjoy the Grammys from your couch by watching CBS starting 8 PM.
Later this month, Adele is also confirmed to play at The Brit Awards, gig scheduled for 21st February at The O2 Arena.
In 2011, Adele had microsurgery on her throat after she experienced bleeding from a benign polyp. Before that, the internet went on a frenzy with rumors stating that Adele was suffering from cancer throat. Her rep stated: “We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a haemorrhaged vocal cord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false”.
