Acer Chromebook 15, a bigger screen

Probably not everyone will opt for Google Chrome OS and Chromebooks, but one thing is for sure: they are popular alternatives to Mac and Windows computers, mainly because they are relatively secure, inexpensive and they browser-based environment continues to grow. Since the release of the first Chromebook, the company has used us with their 13.3 inches or even smaller displays. Now, it looks like Acer Chromebook comes with a 15.6-inch display and budget-friendly components.

However, just because this laptop is bigger, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s more powerful. Yes, it comes with a new fifth-generation Intel Celeron processor (Broadwell), which does improve its performance compared with its predecessor, but that’s all. The bigger display is very nice and having more screen space is always comfortable and handy, especially when somebody is watching a movie on Netflix or working in Goggle Docs. For photo editors, working in Web apps, for example Polarr, the 15.6-inch LCD helps him to view pictures larger and still have room for the program’s tool panels.

Having a big display, automatically the laptop comes in a fairly large chassis. Acer Chromebook 15 measures 15.1 inches wide by 9.7 inches deep by 1 inch thick. The laptop also weighs approximately 5 pounds. Acer features a microwave pattern on its all-plastic casing gives some grip and also keeps it from looking too generic. However, the white body picks up stray dirt easily, which means that the owner must wipe it down more often. The device is also available in a black model. Unfortunately, the keyboard is very small, compared with its huge body. Acer used the extra space for stereo speakers. They sound relatively good, so if the customers are using this laptop for entertainment, they have made a good decision.

Acer Chromebook 15 comes with a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Celeron 3205U processor, accompanied by 4GB of memory and a 32GB solid-state drive, which also include 100GB of Google Drive storage and 60 days of Google Play Music.
