2014 Emmy Awards Nominations

If you are a fan of the Emmy Awards ceremony, you will definitely be interested in finding out who the nominees are this year. Who will win is something we will only discover once the ceremony takes place and all the winners will be announced. 

One of the main categories at the Emmy Awards is the Outstanding Drama Series. In this category are nominated Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Mad Men and True Detective. All these series enjoy a spectacular success at the moment, so it is without a doubt impossible to predict who will win. 

When it comes to the Lead Actor in a Drama category, the nominees in 2014 are Bryan Cranston, for his role in Breaking Bad, Jeff Daniels in The Newsroom, Jon Hamm in Mad Men, Woody Harrelson in True Detective, Matthew McConaughey, for his role in the same series, and Kevin Spacey in House of Cards.

The Lead Actress in a Drama category will be disputed between Lizzy Caplan, for her role in Masters of Sex, Claire Danes, for the performance in Homeland, Michelle Dockery in Downton Abbey, Julianna Marguiles, in The Good Wife, Kerry Washington, in Scandal and Robin Wright, in House of Cards.

The nominees for Supporting Actor in a Drama are Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Jim Carter (Downton Abbey), Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Josh Charles (The Good Wife), Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) and Jon Voight (Ray Donovan). When it comes to Supporting Actress in a Drama category, nominees include Anna Gunn, for the role in Breaking Bad, Maggie Smith and Joanne Froggatt, for Downton Abbey, but also Lena Headey, for the performance in Game of Thrones, Christine Baranski in The Good Wife and Christina Hendricks, in Mad Men. 

Another focus category at the Emmys is Outstanding Comedy Series. Here the nominees are The Big Bang Theory, Louie, Modern Family, Orange is the New Black, Silicon Valley and Veep. Nominees for Lead Actor in a Comedy are Louis CK, Don Cheadle, Ricky Gervais, Matt LeBlanc, William H Macy and Jim Parsons. For Lead Actress in a Comedy, the nominees include Lena Dunham, Edie Falco, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Poehler and Taylor Schilling.
