"Work Hard Play Hard" - Wiz Khalifa's First ONIFC Single

Wiz Khalifa had an unexpected success with his 2010 single “Black And Yellow”, but some say that was just the beginning. The singer has recently released his first single from the ONIFC LP called “Work Hard Play Hard”. MTV expects the new album to become a hit due to his collaboration with many rap artists like Chris Brown, Cam'ron and Pharrell.

Those of you, who felt the absence of Wiz Khalifa in the past two years, will be happy to hear that the American rapper is back in the spotlight with a new album and one fresh single. “Work Hard Play Hard” is not as soft as his 2010 singles “Roll Up” and “Black And Yellow”, but producers think it will draw fans’ attention.

Khalifa is clearly enjoying the success of his first album as great part of the new single focuses around his fortune and his rich lifestyle. The melodic line is probably the only original part in the song; it opens with a kinetic drum pattern that increases its intensity as the music continues. Producers have spiced up the sound of the single with powerful bass and synth effects.

When you first hear the song, you get the impression that Khalifa is angry against the system like most rappers do, but once you get to understand the lyrics you realize the song is all about bragging himself. It all comes down to how much money he has made, how loved and appreciated he is when walking down the streets of Pittsburgh. Despite the shallowness of the text, fans will definitely love the thug sound of “Work Hard Play Hard”.

The rapper has just finished shooting the video for the song, but he could not say when it will be officially released. He was very excited to team up again with Stargate for the production of ONIFC which will be launched in August this year. In his opinion, fans will be delighted to hear the new album due to the variety of the songs and to his guests, Chris Brown, Cam'ron, Pharrell, etc.
