Wacom presents an innovative magic pen: Inking! It can do whatever you dreamed a smart pen would do. But read below to find out more on why you should have one!
Great news for creative people all over the world: Wacom prepares to launch a pen that writes on any type of paper and stores your sketch digitally. This means no more worries about losing a great idea written on somebody else’s notebook or even a post it! All you have to do is have your smart pen in your pocket and let the inspiration flow.
The latest Wacom gadget is called Inkling and it’s basically an electronic pen, able to write on any type of paper. What’s great about it is that it’s also able to capture your work in real time and transfer it in a digital format.
With Inkling, everyone will be able to save any sketch, stroke by stroke, and view it in graphic programs, even on layers. Its main purpose is to help creative minds to store their rough ideas and concepts during a meeting, a brainstorming or a lunch break. The work can be modified and refined later, on any computer using an Intuos4 tablet or Cintiq interactive pen display. Also, the Inkling Sketch Manager software is available to help users edit, delete and change file formats on the computer. Digital files are transferred to the computer using the Inkling Sketch Manager software. They can be exported to graphic applications like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Autodesk Sketchbook Pro or Autodesk Sketchbook Designer. Files can also be saved in a large range of formats (JPG, BMP, TIFF, PNG, SVG & PDF), which makes it very user friendly, even for non-professional users. Inkling has an internal memory that allows you to store hundreds of sketches before exporting them to a PC or Mac.
The pen comes together with a rechargeable battery, an ink cartridge, a charging case, a receiver, a rechargeable receiver battery, a USB cable, 4 spare pen ink cartridges, Inkling Sketch Manager Application and the user’s manual.
Already expected by art directors and artists all over the world, Inkling will be in stores next month and will cost 199 USD.
