About one year after the terrible accident which led to severe injuries and the death of one passenger, Tracy Morgan decided to talk about the tragedy. The interview was aired only a few days after Morgan announced that he reached a settlement with Wal-Mart.
During his interview, the star claimed that he had been working hard to recover from the injuries, but still is not completely well. “I’m at 75 percent,” the comedian said. “I have my good days and I have my bad days,” the star went on to explain.
Tracy Morgan actually suffered from a traumatic brain injury. It all occurred when a Wal-Mart truck hit the limo in which Morgan was traveling, accompanied by a few comedian friends. The star claimed that he now spends most of his time doing physical therapy. The famous comedian revealed that he actually had to learn how to walk and stand once again.
Morgan claimed that things are still quite hard for him, but he is trying his best to achieve a full recovery for the sake of his family. “Sometimes I feel a little off, I might forget things,” he added. “I want to walk my wife down the aisle. I am determined to play with my little daughter and chase her around.” The comedian went on to say that his fiancée and their daughter are actually the ones who help him keep going, giving him the strength that he needs.
“I have a lot to look forward to: I look forward to [her] first day of school, I look forward to being married. … I am happy to be alive,” Tracy Morgan explained. The star also praised his fiancée for everything she had done for him. “She’s right there. She stuck in there with me,” he said. “I can’t wait for us to get married in August. That is the cherry on top of the cake for me.”
When it comes to his career, the star said that he actually fears that he will not be able to make people laugh again. “I love comedy, and I wonder how I’m going to be funny again. How I’m going to get to it,” the star told Today. “The fans have let me know, ‘We can’t wait for you to come back,’ ” he claimed. “I can’t wait to make them laugh again.”
