During the years, many Kirabook series have been released. An interesting thing is that these laptops were the only devices which were competing directly with Apple’s Retina display MacBook Pro series.
Toshiba Kirabook model is packed with fast processors, a high-end design, a better-than-HD display and gives a feeling of a high-end laptop.
After the first Kirabook model was released, many other PC makers have decided to release devices with displays with 2,560×1,440 pixels and probably with 4K resolution models. This means that the market has gotten way crowded and the MacBook Pro started to have more and more competitors.
The new Toshiba Kirabook is a 13-inch laptop that comes with the same good-looking design and having the same high-end display.
However, the company has decided to upgrade the processor to a fifth-generation Intel Core i7. This processor is known as being the top of the mobile CPU line. Unfortunately, compared with other devices that feature this level of performance, Kirabook also comes with a higher price. This means that Toshiba Kirabook 2015 model is available at the price of 1,499 dollars.
If we are starting to compare Toshiba Kirabook’s price with other laptops, we will realize that Dell’s XPS 13 is available at the same price and even Lenovo LeVie Z comes at the price of 1,499 dollars, although it doesn’t have a touchscreen feature. However, the new Apple MacBook Pro that was released this year, comes with the price of 1,299 dollars, but with a Core i5 configuration.
Toshiba Kirabook comes with an interesting feature named Technicolor Chroma Tune app, which allows users to switch between display color profiles. This feature was originally seen in the high-end Toshiba P50t, which is one of the first 4K laptops. The Technicolor Chroma Tune app includes presets for cool, warm, Rec. 709 and a special Technicolor setting. As for the laptop, Toshiba Kirabook is sturdy, well-built and light and comes packed with an amazing higher-end display.
However, it also has some things that makes it less premium, like the keyboard, which is small and delivers a not so good feeling. The touchpad is not responsive enough, especially when someone is using multi-finger gestures.
So, the new Toshiba Kirabook 1,499 dollars model comes with a 13,3-inch touchscreen display, with 2,560×1,449 pixels, a 2.4GHz Intel Core i7-5500U processor, accompanied by 8GB DDR3 SDRAM and 256SSD. This laptop also has an Intel HD Graphics 5500, Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11ac wireless.
