Top five best and worst movies of 2011
Since 2011 it’s coming to an end we should expect to see many balance sheets in the following days. Whether it is their work activities or their goals, people like to make lists with all the things they’ve accomplished and the things they didn’t accomplish at the end of every year. Yahoo Movies could not end the year without making a brief review of the top five best and worst movies of 2011.
According to the website, the fifth position of the classification is occupied by the latest Harry Potter film, “Harry Potter And The Deadly Hallows – Part 2”. During the past years, the franchise managed to gather large numbers of viewers. This is why the producers of the latest movie decided to recall the most important scenes of the series through flashbacks. The fifth worst movie of the year was, on the other hand, “Happy Feet”. The sequel’s success was very small as compared to the first one which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
“Rise Of The Planet Apes” was the next best movie of 2011. Its success was due to the fact that the producer of the movie changed the original storyline and managed to get viewers to support the chimpanzees instead of the humans. At the opposite end, is “Bucky Larson: Born To Be A Star” a film that you probably didn’t even hear about. Even though it was produced by Adam Sandler and it featured some of the best comedy actors, nobody wanted to see “Bucky Larson” because the storyline was rather weak.
At the third position of the classification is “Drive” starring Ryan Gosling. Most viewers who went to see this movie were surprised to find out that the motion picture doesn’t follow the same pattern of the “Transporter” films. As if we haven’t seen enough spy movies in the past years, Hollywood prepared another similar production: “The Double”. Unfortunately, the movie was not as suspenseful as it should have been because the identity of the spy was revealed during the first half hour of the movie.
Although it was recently released “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” was nominated the second best film of the year by Yahoo Movies. According to movie analysts, the motion picture hooks viewers through its mysterious storyline and heart-thrilling images. “Shark Night 3D” was supposed to do the same, but people who went to see the movie were disappointed with the interpretation of the actors and the dull plot of the movie.
Finally, the best production in 2011 was “The Muppets” whose return was long waited by fans. The parody showed people that the beloved dolls can be successful even after a decade by spoofing “The Hangover”, “Green Lantern” and other romantic comedies. Critics at Yahoo Movies have nominated “Killer Elite” the worst production of the year because it was nothing but a second rate action film. Too bad for Robert DeNiro’s performance.
