Actress Tia Mowry announced on Thursday that she no longer wants to feature in the upcoming season of BET’s series, “The Game”. According to Us Weekly, the star did not provide any explanation for her decision to ditch the show.
The sixth season of “The Game” will start without Tia Mowry because the actress has withdrawn from the series. The announcement was first made on Tuesday via Mowry’s Twitter account. She wrote that she wanted to let all her fans know she will not be returning to “The Game” in the following season. Tia further explained that she is trying to focus on some new projects including a new Family movie produced by ABC.
Her decision to leave the show might put producers into trouble as the actress has been a part of “The Game” since its beginning in 2006. The series used to air on the CW at first, but producers obtained a better contract with BET in 2011. Wendy Raquel Robinson and Pooch Hall were Tia’s costars in the show.
Being on “The Game” was very difficult for Mowry because she had to sacrifice her time with the family. The series were filmed in Atlanta, whereas her husband and her son were staying in Los Angeles. Despite this, Tia doesn’t plan to put an end to her TV career; in fact, she will be involved in numerous other projects in the near future.
On June 11, Tia will witness the premiere of “Tia & Tamera” second season which is broadcast on the STYLE network. The show is produced in collaboration with her twin sister, Tamera. Tia is not only an actress, but also a writer as she recently wrote a book about pregnancy called “Oh Baby”. According to her, the publication was inspired by her first pregnancy with son Cree.
Tia and her husband, Cory Hardrict, tied the knot in 2008. In June 2011, they welcomed their first baby, a boy whom they named Cree Taylor.
