The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

Well, it looks like another release was just announced from the giant tech company Samsung. These days, the popular smart device maker released the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. This device comes in two familiar sizes, 8 and 9.7 inches.

To be mentioned that the new tablet is considered to be lighter and slimmer than the previous model, the Galaxy Tab S. As we know, Samsung’s tablets are some of the most appreciated devices on the market, being the most important rival in the battle with the iPads.

Moreover, the Korean electronics giant declared that the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the “thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever.” Well, they are right, because this tablet will certainly impress everyone with its light weight and build quality.

However, the giant company has also declared that they will start a global release in August. Even if Samsung has made an early appearance in Singapore, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will only be officially available on August 7. Even if the prices are not officially known, the prediction prices are wandering around 430 dollars for the 8-inches tablet and 510 dollars for the 9.7-inches tablet. As for design, Samsung decided to try something different and instead of releasing a large 10.5-inches screen version, they opted for something more comfortable, like 8- and 9.7-inches screen models. Surprisingly or not, these measures can also be found on the iPad Air and iPad Mini.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will also come with some interesting modifications, for example the home button was shifted a little and it features a fingerprint scanner. Of course, a lot of speculation has been made besides this move, claiming that now the home button is similar with the iPad’s button. However, even if they have similar button layout and screen sizes, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 looks different from the iPad. Samsung’s product comes with a beautiful and solid designed and there is no chance that customers will mistake it with the iPad’s design.

Both the 8- and 9.7-inches versions come with a Super AMOLED display and the resolution of both screens is 2,048×1, 563 pixels. Moreover, the tablets run Android Lollipop 5.0.2 and also come with the Galaxy Life app. To be mentioned that this app offers discounts for restaurants or spa treatments and other lifestyle deals. Both of these models are coming packed with Samsung’s own Exynos 7 Octa processor, clocked at 1.9 GHz and powered by 3GB of RAM. Moreover, it also has a 32GB of onboard storage.
