The new Pebble Time Steel

Pebble is trying to come with some interesting alternatives that could turn out into serious competitors for Samsung’s smartwatches or Apple Watch. However, Pebble also has some pluses compared with those high-end wearables, for example the battery life. Pebble watches have always been recognized as having a good battery life.

With the new Pebble Time Steel, the company has promised that it will last more than 10 days on a charge. This is an important step forward for the company, which will become an interesting attraction for many customers. To be added that Pebble Time Steel costs an extra 50 dollars, compared with the 199 dollars leather band model.

Besides the battery life upgrade, the new Pebble comes with an all-steel body. However, Pebble Time Steel is the same smartwatch as the normal Pebble Time, which has been released a couple of months ago. Moreover, Pebble Time Steel comes with an improved color-screen version and is available in two brands: one steel and one leather. Without a doubt this wearable from Pebble is a completely different product compared with Moto 360 or Apple Watch. For starters, this device skips touchscreen in favor of physical buttons and has an always on screen.

As for design, this watch features the same design as its predecessor, only that it is covered in metal. A funny thing is that many people will probably not notice its metal body, because Pebble Time has a front bezel that looks like being all-metal. Pebble Time Steel features the same size and thickness found at Apple Watch, 42mm, and it doesn’t look bad at all.

Moreover, customers can find it in three different colors: black, silver and gold finishes. Probably, the most significant change, beside the metal body, are the buttons. Users will have to press buttons on the sides to interact with the watch, because it doesn’t have a touchscreen option. However, the buttons are easy to click and are very responsive. Moreover, the watch is water resistant up to 30 meters, but users will have to change the leather band before they get into water.
