Well, it looks like JBL is at its third version in the Flip lineup. This third-generation model comes with a better battery life, as the company declared that will go up to 10 hours, and a more streamlined, splashproof design.
The interesting part is that JBL will not rise up the price and the new Bluetooth speaker will be available at the same price as the previous model, more exactly 100 dollars. The new JBL Flip 3 plays any audio content from a Bluetooth-enabled source, like most recent computers, tablets and smartphones.
The new JBL Flip 3 weighs less than a pound, more exactly 15.9 ounces, and it is available in seven different colors. Moreover, just like its predecessor, this speaker can be stood up vertically or laid out horizontally. However, users should know that since one of the bass ports get covered up when it stays vertically, going on a horizontal mode will help them receive a little more bass.
Unfortunately, the Bluetooth speaker doesn’t come with a carrying case included in the package, meaning that it will not be fully protected while travelling. However, the speaker seems to be pretty durable and most important, it is water-resistant and comes with a flap that securely covers its audio input and USB charging port.
Now, at the first look, users will probably think that there is no pause/play button on the speaker, but they should know that the answer/end button doubles as a pause/play button. Moreover, the answer/end button will allow users to skip tracks forward and back, so they just need to double tap to advance forward and triple tap to skip back.
As for extra options, JBL Flip 3 comes equipped with a built-in noise and echo canceling speakerphone, and users will also be allowed to wirelessly link multiple JBL Connect-enabled speakers together to amplify the sound. To be added that the device uses Bluetooth 4.1 technology and it features a typical wireless streaming range of about 10 meters. As for the sound, the new JBL Flip 3 sounds pretty good and plays very loud for its size.
