HP just announced the release of the new Omen gaming laptop. With this release, HP is ready to enter to the competitive PC gaming market. This decision was made after buying the Voodoo gaming PC brand a few years ago. Razer, Alienware and MSI are the three giants of the PC gaming market, so HP will have to fight these three giant companies if they want to dominate the gaming market. HP is surely not wasting time and the features of the Omen laptop will speak for themselves.
The HP Omen laptop is extremely interesting. It has an Intel Core i7 4710HQ CPU, running at 2.5GHz and boostable to 3.5GHZ, 15.6-inch, 1080p touchscreen, NVidia GeForce GTX 860 GPU, SSD all the way and PCle in higher-end SKUs. This gaming laptop weighs 4.68 pounds and last up to approximately four hours and 40 minutes on its 4-cell, 58WHr lithium ion battery. This is an impressive laptop, with high-en features that will probably be a good catch to many gamers.
Mike Nash of HP declared that “we’ve got to get the performance right, specifically frame rates. We’ve got to get the portability right. And we have to create a unique gaming experience.” HP Omen has a great design and the laptop’s frame is made from CNC machined aluminum, which was transformed into a matte black finish. HP put all of the ports in the back side of the laptop, with the purpose to keep wires out of sight or out of the way. The keyboard is really impressive and has six programmable function keys tuned for positive action without making any loud noises. Users can configured the lights under the keyboard to highlight specific keys.
You can preorder the Omen laptop and according to HP, unites are expected to ship in a few weeks. A entry-level system will cost approximately 1500 dollars featured by Intel core i7 CPU, 8GB of DDR3 Ram and NVidia GTX 860M GPU with 2GB of DDR5 RAM and a 128GB mSATA SSD. A top of the line model, hasn’t got a price set but most probably a 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD and 4GB of DDR5 RAM for the NVidia GPU sounds really good for a gamer.
