The Katie Couric Talk Show Premieres September 10

A few years back, Katie Couric shocked the audience when decided to move from NBC’s “Today” show to CBS as news anchor. Her career hits another peak, as the Katie Couric talk show is set to premiere early this fall, September 10 on ABC

Katie Couric is the living proof of what being successful in the TV industry is all about. She’s been at it for 33 years. She’s seen it all, she’s heard it all. So, having her own talk show was the obvious step in a TV news career that continues at top of the industry more than three decades since her debut.

The Katie Couric talk show premieres later this year and there’s nobody else more excited than the host herself.  The former “Today” personality had a press tour event at the Television Critics Association these days, where she introduced her new daytime talk show.

Katie Couric walked on stage accompanied by her talk show’s theme song, Sheryl Crow’s “This Day”. It was the first time Katie’s theme song was ever unveiled and Time Entertainment writes it’s “kinda upbeat, kinda easy listening, not 100% mindless but about as edgy as a polished marble”.

“I can flex all my muscles” said Katie Couric about her upcoming daytime talk show. “I’ve been in TV news for 33 years and done such a variety of things, from celebrity-driven to serious news stories” she added during the presentation of her talk show’s concept.

The Katie Couric talk show is meant to pertain to women struggling with “dating in (their) 40s or 50s” or trying to cope with caring for their aging parent(s). For the most part the upcoming show will cover one topic, but if there’s more in the news, it could often feature two or three topics.

According to Katie Couric, her upcoming day time show will also have a few recurring segments, such as “Women who should be famous” and listerners’ bucket lists called “You Only Live Once”.

Time Entertainment believes the Katie Couric show concept will “fit the brand she established at Today, where she was known to take on service topics and connect with them personally”.

Anyway, with Oprah’s show out of the picture, the TV world is just craving for another breathtaking daytime show. Who knows, maybe it’ll be Katie Couric’s talk show that fills that place.
