If you’re a fan of the genre and are into the whole fantasy world of the “Lord of the Rings”, then you must be pretty anxious to see “The Hobbit”. Well, the movie won’t be out before next December, but the good news is that its teaser trailer has been released.
Quite short, indeed, I’ll give that to you, but don’t argue before you actually see the teaser trailer. It features a lot of interesting details that will arouse your curiosity to high levels, making the one-year wait a burden. Meanwhile, let’s have a look at the story, shall we?
The wizard Gandalf the Grey takes Bilbo Baggins into an amazing and breathtaking quest towards several realms to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. Joining them is a company of thirteen dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield, the legendary warrior. During their adventure, Bilbo meets Gollum and that’s when he becomes the master of the “precious ring”.
Expect to see Cate Blanchett, Luke Evans, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Stephen Fry and Cristopher Lee play amazing part in an eye-catching production based on a story written by J.R.R. Tolkien and adapted by Fran Walsh.
Peter Jackson is the director in charge, and he’ll surely do a great job, even better than what he did with the three Lord of the Rings movies. He was nominated for a Best Director Academy Award for “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring” (2001), and won it for “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” (2003).
Stephen Fry plays the Master of Laketown in “The Hobbit” and in an interview with Digital Spyt he gave a little insight from the shooting studios. He even tells the story of him having to eat testicles, a diet requirement imposed by director Peter Jackson:
“He had me eating testicles…gross appetites”, says Fry. “I mustn’t give too much away but I’ve got a bald cap and then on top of that a really bad combover wig and this wispy mustache and wispy beard and horrible blotchy skin and disgusting fingernails”.
Meanwhile, Andy Serkins will be playing Gollum once again. In a previous interview he explained that playing Gollum is “a really challenging, exciting character who will be a big part of my career”.
