The new models prepared by Nokia, that is, Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 have been disclosed this weekend through a series of photos leaked and published by @evleaks. The first impression that the images have left upon us is that the Windows 8 based smartphone is meant for the low end customers.
Even though Nokia’s upcoming models, Lumia 720 and 520 will enter the low-end market, the images that were leaked on the internet appear to be just as well-built as the other prototypes released by the Finnish company. The phones that will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress starting on Monday look very similar to the rest of the smartphones existing on the market. The only difference, however, in point of design, is the fact that Lumia 720 and 520 will be much more colorful than Apple and Samsung’s phones.
Based on the description provided by evleaks, the 520 model will feature a 4-inch Super Sensitive screen, a dual-core processor of 1 GHz capacity and an internal memory of 512 MB. The storage capacity of the phone equals 8 GB, which is a rather small value compared to other smartphones. The 5 megapixel camera delivers good photos, but it is still too weak compared to Samsung’s Galaxy 8 megapixel camera. Lumia 520, nicknamed “Fame”, does not have a front camera, so video calls will not be available with this phone.
Its bigger brother, Lumia 720, a.k.a. Zeal, has been provided with a 4.3 inch ClearBlack display, but the internal specs are more or less the same. In addition to the 1GHz dual core processor, the 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB storage capacity, the 720 prototype has also been endowed with a 6 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. This model will also support HSPA+ and will have a microSD slot, so it will be slightly more advanced than the other Nokia smartphone.
Nokia has been absent from the market during the past few years. In fact, the Finnish company has constantly been criticized for the manner in which they have approached or better say, ignored, the smartphone trend. The mobile company was not able to synchronize with other smartphone makers and, therefore, the share price experienced a significant drop.
Those days are, nevertheless, gone because Nokia is determined to release many more models in the following period. In addition to Nokia Lumia 720 and 520, the company could also unveil Nokia Laser and Nokia catwalk in the near future.
