Chris Cornell Could have Used a Series of Drugs before Suicide

According to a new TMZ report, famous singer Chris Cornell might have used a series of drugs before his suicide a week ago. The star hanged himself in his hotel room and his body was discovered by his bodyguard. Initially it had been revealed that Chris took Ativan before he committed suicide, but now TMZ reported that the star had some fresh marks on his arm, which could indicate that he might have been under the influence of other drugs, as well.

TMZ cited some sources claiming that the tracks on Chris’ arms were “obvious.” And considering that the singer had a history of using drugs, there is no wonder that such claims emerged. However, some toxicology tests are being made on the star’s body, so it is yet to see if drugs will be found in his system.

An important aspect to mention is that Ted Keedick, Chris’ tour manager previously said that the star seemed “high” during the concert he held the day before his death. The singer’s wife claimed that Chris took “an extra Ativan or two” before he was found dead in his room. She said that he seemed sad when she talked to him on the phone, and she suspected something might be wrong this is why she asked Chris’ bodyguard to check on him.

Vicky Cornell has opened up in a letter to her late husband, saying that he was the best father and husband. “You had always said I saved you, that you wouldn’t be alive if it were not for me. My heart gleamed to see you happy, living and motivated. Excited for life. Doing everything you could to give back. We had the time of our lives in the last decade and I’m sorry, my sweet love, that I did not see what happened to you that night,” the letter said.

Vicky also said that she was sorry Chris was alone. The letter went on to add that Vicky will “think of you every minute of every day and I will fight for you. You were right when you said we are soulmates. It has been said that paths that have crossed will cross again, and I know that you will come find me, and I will be here waiting.”

Chris Cornell’s Wife Says the Singer was Tired before Suicide

Chris Cornell’s death was without a doubt a shock for the whole world. Although not much detail has been revealed with regards to what happened, now, a police report may make some light over the events.

In the police report, the wife of the late singer, Vicky Cornell, gives some details of her last conversation with her husband. Chris committed suicide in his hotel room and it has been claimed that he was very tired before his death. The police report was obtained by The Detroit News. The report indicated that the star told his wife that “I am just tired.”

Vicky told the police that she had conversations with her husband after his concert in Detroit and she noticed that something was not right after having those discussions. “He was different,” Vicky said. “When he told me he may have taken an extra Ativan or two, I contacted security and asked that they check on him,” she also said.

Chris received two Ativan pills from his bodyguard, Martin Kristin. The singer allegedly took this medication for his anxiety. Martin left the room and Chris remained alone, however, he returned to the room after Vicky called him and asked him to check on her husband. Martin said that the security of the hotel did not allow him to enter the room because “he is not registered to that room.” Martin finally kicked the door open and found Chris “laying on the bathroom floor.” Allegedly, blood was running down his mouth and Chris had an exercise band around his neck.

TMZ reported that the singer fastened the band to a carabiner that had been lodged into the doorframe, which lead to indentation marks. The police, who soon arrived on the scene, said that Chris’ wife “stated victim is a recovered drug addict.” “Chris, a recovering addict, had a prescription for Ativan and may have taken more Ativan than recommended dosages. The family believes that if Chris took his life, he did not know what he was doing, and that drugs or other substances may have affected his actions,” a statement from the family’s lawyer also said.
