Tablet Sales to grow Next Year

Apparently, people are becoming more and more interested in the tablet market. A recently released report said that Steve Jobs’s prediction when it comes to tablet sales may actually turn out being true very soon.

So, it is expected for the sales of tablets to exceed the sales of PCs in 2015. It is also expected that next year tablet shipments will climb from 256 million to more than 321 million. On the other hand, while the tablet market will be growing, the sales of desktops and laptops will actually decrease. So, the tablet market will experience a growth, while the market of desktops and laptops will see a decrease.

If this prognosis will turn out being true, this will be the first time when PC sales are overpassed by the sales of tablet computers. This will definitely be an important change on the tech market. Well, it seems that this change has been predicted by no one else than famous co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. Jobs made this prediction back in 2010, as he claimed that tablets actually are the post-PC era.

“PCs are going to be like trucks. They’re still going to be around. They’re still going to have a lot of value, but they’re going to be used by one out of X people,” Steve Jobs claimed back then. Analysts say that one of the most important factors which sustains the growth of tablet sales are prices.

So, emerging markets and the interest in lower-price devices, as well as in portable devices, are sustaining the growth of the tablet market. Moreover, it seems that tablets are becoming more and more affordable. Naturally, this means that a greater number of people will afford purchasing such a device.

Analysts also say that most probably people are going to be interested in larger-screen tablets, while the interest in smaller tablets will decrease. This will happen as users are going to become more attracted by smartphones with larger screen.

It surely is interesting to find out how this market will evolve. Are people going to become more interested in tablets than in PCs? Well, by 2015 we will definitely find out the answer to this question.
