Sony has decided to release two new Android smartphones, as well as a new tablet. It seems that the company has just updated its smart devices.
Many companies have chosen to reveal new products at the Mobile World Congress, which is an ongoing event that currently takes place in Barcelona. Sony seems to be one of them. The famous smartphone marker has revealed at the event two new Android smartphones, as well as the Xperia Z2 tablet.
The Xperia Z2 tablet is quite an impressive new device. In fact, the 10.1 high-definition display tablet aims to be an important rival to the popular iPad Air. Moreover, Sony presented the Xperia Z2 smartphone with 5.2-inch display, as well as the Xperia M2 with 4.8-inch display.
Sony announced that the two devices will be available in sale starting with March and April. The Xperia M2, which Sony promises to have in sale by April, is a mid-range price device, as Sony seems to be willing to reach new buyers with the smartphones it released at this point.
Actually, this already seems to be a trend associated to the Mobile World Congress. Nokia has released no less than 3 low-end smartphones which aim to address to buyers in emerging markets, who are searching for very affordable smartphones.
Now, it seems that Sony is also interested in attracting such buyers, the company revealing that its Xperia M2 aims to attract people moving from feature phones to smartphones for the first time. Xperia M2 runs Jelly Bean, Android 4.3.
Moreover, Sony has chosen to impress with its new tablet. The Xperia Z2 Tablet actually is considered to be the slimmest and lightest tablet in the world. The device is only 0.25 inches thick and 15 ounces light. Moreover, the new Sony is a waterproof tablet.
The Xperia Z2 is quite similar in terms of looks with the previous Sony Xperia Tablet Z, although it is much slimmer. The previous model is currently available in sale at $449, so it is yet unknown the price range for the new release. When it comes to features, Sony promises a good product, which features 2.2 megapixel front camera, as well as 6000mAh battery and the first digital noise-cancelling technology.
