Sofia Vergara Is Forbes’ Highest Paid TV Actress
She’s 40 and racy, funny and insanely popular. It goes without saying “Modern Family” Sofia Vergara is living the high life with 12 months earnings worth $19 million. In a nutshell, Sofia Vergara is Forbes’ highest paid TV actress.
There’s a virtually endless line of women at 40 wishing to look like Sofia Vergara, live her life and enjoy the actress’s incredible popularity. Obviously, Sofia Vergara has been working hard for that Forbes highest paid TV actress title. Not that she was aiming for that particular ranking, but over the past 12 months, Vergara had quite a busy schedule.
It’s not only her paycheck for “Modern Family” that helped her climb at the top of Forbes’ list with $19 million in earnings. The actress was the real hard-working girl. To begin with, she launched her own Kmart clothing line, which brought her $7 million alone. She also made several endorsements for companies such as Cover girl and Pepsi, not to mention ads in Spanish for Comcast, State Farm and Burger King. She scored a voice part in “The Smurfs”, “The Three Stooges” and “New Year’s Eve”.
Vergara has her own production company, called Latin World Entertainment, which reported $27 million revenue last year. It’s a company with an A-list of clients, such as Disney and Paramount to name a few. And it looks it is going to produce even more money. “The truth is out that we’re in this country and we’re taking over” said Sofia Vergara. “To see people paying attention to the cultural changes that Luis (business partner) and I have seen coming for a long time is fantastic” she added of the focus her company has been getting lately.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian lost the top spot. But she’s not that far off behind Sofia Vergara. For the past 12 months, Kim Kardashian made $18 million, most of it coming from the $30 million deal the family’s reality show scored with E! network. She got another $6 million thanks to her perfume retail sales and almost just as much from the clothing line she and her sisters founded, the Kardashian Kollection.
Eva Longoria ranks third with $15 million in revenue, while Bethenny Frankel is fourth with some $12 million. Khloe Kardashian Odom and Tina Fey are both fifth best paid TV actresses.
