It has just been revealed that famous singer Sinead O’Connor went missing after enjoying a bike ride in Chicago. The news has been confirmed by police sources, People magazine reported. Sinead is suspected to be suicidal, so her disappearance is considered to be a very serious case.
Sinead was last seen on Sunday, near Illinois City. She went out for a bike ride, but it seems that Sinead did not return home. So, a caller notified authorities, who started to look for the popular singer. TMZ reported that the cops classified the star as “missing suicidal.”
Before her disappearance, Sinead shared a message calling her 28 year old son Jake to go to court and take custody of her son Shane. “Do not abandon your brother or any other of my babies again. What you have done to your brother and your mother is LITERALLY criminal,” she said.
The fact that Sinead O’Connor might be dealing with suicidal behavior is not something new. In fact, the famous singer has been well known to battle such issues. Furthermore, back in November 2015, Sinead shared a message indicating that she had taken an overdose.
“There is only so much any woman can be expected to bear,” she wrote. “What was done to me this week was appalling cruelty,” the singer said. “The last two nights finished me off. I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name,” her message went on to add.
Luckily, at that time, Sinead was discovered and received the medical attention needed. The singer is known to have struggled after starting a custody battle with Donal Lunny, over their 11-years old son, Shane. Sinead shared on Facebook various messages saying that her family was never there for her and they barely visited her.
The singer also attempted to take her life back in 2012, as well as in 1999. She sought help and publicly revealed that she was suffering from bipolar disorder.
