Selena Gomez has been through a very difficult experience. The famous star had to undergo this year a kidney surgery, which actually saved her life. Selena opened up about this subject during a new interview with NBC News. The star was actually accompanied during her interview by the friend who made the impressive gesture of donating Selena a kidney.
Selena disclosed the fact that she underwent kidney transplant back in September. At that time, the famous actress said that she needed to have this medical intervention because of her ongoing battle with lupus. “I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health,” Selena shared on social media at that time.
Selena was really thankful in her social media message. The famous singer thanked her team of doctors, but also her family. And of course, she was very emotional when sharing a message about her best friend Felicia. “There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa,” Selena wrote. “She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis,” she concluded.
Well, during her new interview, Selena claimed that she is 100% sure that her close friend Francia Raisa saved her life. “Because she did. That’s it,” the famous singer said.
“I guess I got to the point where it was really kind of life of death,” Selena went on to explain. “My kidneys were just done. That was it and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life,” the singer also said. “And she volunteered and I did it,” the star concluded. This was actually the first time when Selena talked about this subject. Well, it surely seems that Selena is doing much better now.
